For individuals who only need to understand IQA theory or conduct limited sampling. The Certificate is the full qualification that allows you to lead internal quality assurance processes, manage assessor teams, and ensure compliance across a centre.
Typically, you need the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or an equivalent qualification. This ensures you understand assessment practice before you quality assure it.
Assessment is via a portfolio of evidence, which may include written assignments, reflective accounts, workplace documents, meeting minutes, observation of practice, and reports. You’ll also be observed carrying out IQA activities.
The course usually includes three main units:
1. Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment.
2. Internally assure the quality of assessment.
3. Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility.
Yes – you will complete written knowledge tasks as well as practical evidence (e.g., observations, sampling assessor work).
