We are an educational charity and a leader in vocational and technical learning, designing, developing, and certifying qualifications from Entry Level through Level 6.
Founded in 1848, we have been supporting learners for over 175 years. The organisation has evolved over time, becoming the Northern Council for Further Education in 1981. Since the 1990s, as our focus expanded both nationally and internationally, we have become known simply as NCFE.
Established on the belief that no learner should be left behind, our core purpose continues to guide us today: to promote and advance learning, helping to build a fairer, more inclusive society.
Ofqual Regulated
NCFE is regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), with its qualifications listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.
Global Presence
NCFE has a global presence, although its primary focus is the UK. Over the years, NCFE has expanded internationally by partnering with institutions and organisations around the world to offer its vocational and technical qualifications. This allows learners outside the UK to access NCFE-accredited courses and certifications.
